Delete your account

You can delete your TallyAero account and the data stored with it at any time, from inside the app. You do not need to contact us first, and you do not need an active subscription to do it.

In the app

  1. Open Settings. In the TallyAero app, open Settings.
  2. Go to Data & Backup. Select Data & Backup.
  3. Choose Delete Account. Select Delete Account and confirm. Export your logbook first if you want a copy; export stays available to you at no charge.

Deletion is done in the app, using the steps above. If you have a question about it, or something does not work, contact [email protected].

What gets deleted

  • Your logbook: flights, simulator and ground sessions, aircraft, endorsements and remarks
  • Your pilot profile, including certificate numbers and any medical, BasicMed, SODA or Special Issuance information you entered
  • Documents you uploaded, including scanned logbook pages and photographs of certificates and medicals, stored as complete images
  • Your device registry entries, including the per-installation identifier
  • Your sign-in record with our authentication provider

Deletion runs in a fixed order: your records first, then your stored files, then your sign-in record last. That ordering is deliberate, so that a failure part-way through cannot leave data behind that no account can reach.

What may remain, and for how long

  • Server logs. Values read from documents are written to our server logs as part of normal operation. Deleting your account does not reach those logs, which expire on their own retention schedule.
  • Records we must keep. We may retain limited information where the law requires it, or to resolve a dispute or enforce an agreement.
  • Purchases. Your purchase history is held by Apple or Google, not by us. Deleting your TallyAero account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel that in the App Store or Google Play.
  • Data on your device. Uninstalling the app removes its local copy. Clearing app data does the same.

Export first if you want a copy

Deletion cannot be undone and we cannot restore an account afterwards. Export your logbook before you delete it. Export of your own records is free and stays available even if a subscription has lapsed.
