Abstract

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain The Boeing Company Model 747-400F series airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report that cap seals were not applied to certain fasteners in the fuel tanks during production. This AD requires applying cap seals to certain fastener collars inside the fuel tanks. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

AGENCY: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), DOT.

SUMMARY: The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain The Boeing Company Model 747-400F series airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report that cap seals were not applied to certain fasteners in the fuel tanks during production. This AD requires applying cap seals to certain fastener collars inside the fuel tanks. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

DATES: This AD is effective October 21, 2024. The Director of the Federal Register approved the incorporation by reference of a certain publication listed in this AD as of October 21, 2024.
