Methodology + roadmap.

Every airport on this map comes from the public-domain OurAirports dataset, which is sourced daily from the FAA's National Airspace System Resource (NASR) and community contributions. Runway and frequency data are joined from the matching CSV exports. We re-run the joiner nightly via the Atlas ETL automation pipeline.

  • · Now: type, longest runway, width, surface, lighting, towered, ASOS / AWOS, VOR, NDB, elevation, slope, runway count, country, free-text search.
  • · v2 (next): arresting gear (BAK-12 / BAK-14 / EMAS / MA-1A) — needs the FAA NASR RWY_END table ingest. Also: ILS by runway end, customs / Class B inset views, fuel / FBO data from chart supplement.
