Abstract

The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2022-22- 10, which applied to certain Airbus SAS Model A318, A319, A320, and A321 series airplanes. AD 2022-22-10 required revising the existing maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, to incorporate new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations. This AD was prompted by a determination that new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations are necessary. This AD continues to require certain actions in AD 2022- 22-10 and requires revising the existing maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, to incorporate new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

SUMMARY: The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2022-22- 10, which applied to certain Airbus SAS Model A318, A319, A320, and A321 series airplanes. AD 2022-22-10 required revising the existing maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, to incorporate new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations. This AD was prompted by a determination that new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations are necessary. This AD continues to require certain actions in AD 2022- 22-10 and requires revising the existing maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, to incorporate new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference. DATES: This AD is effective March 17, 2025. The Director of the Federal Register approved the incorporation by reference of a certain publication listed in this AD as of March 17, 2025. The Director of the Federal Register approved the incorporation by reference of a certain other publication listed in this AD as of December 30, 2022 (87 FR 72374, November 25, 2022).
