Abstract

The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain The Boeing Company Model 737-100, -200, -200C, -300, -400, and -500 series airplanes. This proposed AD was prompted by a report of cracks found in the fuselage skin underneath the aft drain mast. This proposed AD would require repetitive inspections of the fuselage skin and structure common to the aft drain mast for any crack or corrosion and applicable on-condition actions. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

Airworthiness Directives; The Boeing Company Airplanes

ACTION: Notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM).

SUMMARY: The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain The Boeing Company Model 737-100, -200, -200C, -300, -400, and -500 series airplanes. This proposed AD was prompted by a report of cracks found in the fuselage skin underneath the aft drain mast. This proposed AD would require repetitive inspections of the fuselage skin and structure common to the aft drain mast for any crack or corrosion and applicable on-condition actions. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
