I was in the traffic pattern at GPH doing touch and go. On my last touch and go I announced I would be departing from the downwind to the southwest. Aircraft Y was approaching from the southwest at the same time and said they would be entering the downwind. As I flew in the downwind I saw Aircraft Y flying the opposite direction of the downwind within 2 miles of the airport. They were close so I immediately began a climb because we were at relatively the same altitude. In the pattern I was at approximately 1800 MSL and after reaching about approximately 2000 MSL Aircraft Y turned directly under me to enter the downwind. The distance from me at the closest point was approximately 250' vertical and 500' horizontal. My GARMIN 650 GPS did put out an audible and visual traffic warning as they turned under me.
