On approach to LAX on ILS25L between Gaate and Hunda at 4400 ft observed an unmanned drone pass slightly above and down the right side of the aircraft. Closest point of approach was approximately 50 ft. Continued approach to an uneventful landing. No aircraft damage on post flight inspection. Verbally reported event to the Chief Pilot.
