About this directory.

Source

FAA Releasable Airmen Database — the same monthly bulk download the agency publishes for any researcher / member of the public. Filtered to airmen with an active Flight Instructor certificate.

Address-opt-out gap

The FAA Releasable Airmen Database excludes airmen who opted out of address release — they're omitted entirely from the bulk download, even though they remain visible on the FAA's per-individual Airmen Inquiry tool (with the address line redacted). A meaningful fraction of active CFIs use this opt-out, so they aren't surfaced here. That's a known gap we'll close via the per-person inquiry endpoint in a follow-up.

Authority

CFIs are governed under 14 CFR 61 Subpart H. Privileges, eligibility, and renewal cadence flow from there. Each rating in the table is an FAA-issued endorsement on the underlying flight-instructor certificate.

Per-individual profile pages with a takedown / opt-out mechanism for designees who request name suppression coming soon.
