Only opened to visitors a few decades ago, Hawaii’s smallest inhabited island sits off the coast of Maui. Once accounting for ¾ of the world’s pineapple supply, today Lanai hosts a world-class resort and golf course set against a rugged backdrop of 400 miles of meandering off-road trails, and the largest surviving prehistoric village. With no stoplights on the island and only 3,000 residents, Lanai is Hawaii’s most remote and unspoiled island.
