The Placerville and Georgetown airports are owned and operated by the County of El Dorado and are located in the heart of the Sierra Nevada foothills. Nearby attractions include Coloma, the original John Marshall gold discovery site that started the gold rush in California, and some of the best white water rafting in the country.
