About
The Placerville and Georgetown airports are owned and operated by the County of El Dorado and are located in the heart of the Sierra Nevada foothills. Nearby attractions include Coloma, the original John Marshall gold discovery site that started the gold rush in California, and some of the best white water rafting in the country. Apple Hill is home to numerous orchards and wineries. The Eldorado National Forest is filled with hundreds of miles of hiking trails, remote camping areas, refreshing mountain lakes and thrilling ski resorts. All this plus more makes these airports ideal to start off your year-round adventures. Both airports play a vital role in the community as emergency facilities during wildland fires, life flight transfers, and search and rescue operations.
