About
Alexandria Flying Club gives an opportunity for members to hone their skill through local novelty flying, short pleasure cruises, and cross-country treks. The club’s Piper Cherokee 180 (PA28) has been flown to many parts of the U.S and some parts of Canada. It is a very stable IFR aircraft. Its navigation equipment was upgraded from a Loran to a Garmin 430 navigation system. A new interior was installed in the year 2000 with touch-up paint in 2006. It is a gem to fly. The club “Prides” itself on maintaining this aircraft as an airworthy aircraft under VFR and IFR flying conditions. Alexandria Flying Club is not in the business of flight training for the general public. However, as a club member any advanced certificate or rating is permitted under our flying club rules. Initial private pilot training is referred to other flight schools or independent flight instructors. In addition, the club plane can be used by its members for flight training to earn additional ratings or certificates. Currently our plane has installed an ADSB IN & Out.
