About
The Flying 20 Club was originally incorporated in Danbury, Connecticut on June 22, 1940, making it one of the oldest active clubs in the United States. The original twenty individuals, who each put-up $20 to buy a J-2 Cub for $400, formed the club to encourage interest in aviation, to promote safe and economical flying for its members, and to encourage and assist its members to advance in the field of aviation. We meet on the second Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m. to discuss monthly club business and safety topics. During the summer months (May - October), a Wash 'n Wax BBQ at Reliant Air precedes the meeting to keep our aircraft looking great, after which everyone is invited to dine on freshly grilled food. During the winter months, we meet virtually via Zoom, and also host regular "Hangar Talk" sessions in the Reliant Air lounge to keep our aviation minds sharp. We also hold an in-person business meeting in November and a spring social in March (at which members may bring along a guest).
