Fun Country Soaring is the premier soaring club of Northern Ohio. We are located only 50 minutes West of Cleveland and 30 min East of Sandusky / Cedar Point, and the views of Lake Erie from 3,000 feet are breathtaking. Operating out of Ortner Airport (I-64) in Wakeman, Ohio, we have access to both a 3,500’ paved runway and a grass strip. FCS has four Flight Instructors and seven Tow Pilots and one of the best fleets that can be found in the mid-west. Our fleet includes: Piper Pawnee tow plane; Blanik l-23 two seat glider; Grob 103 two seat glider; Grob 102 single seat glider; Schweizer 1-26 single seat glider FCS operates Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting and offers scenic flights, glider instruction and glider ratings for power pilots.
