Gateway Flying Club strives to be a club for the pilot who wants to use airplanes to travel and explore at affordable rates. We are a social organization that treats our members like owners and family; because they are! Gateway owns four airplanes and a hangar/clubhouse. Our aircraft mix provides a continuum of performance and payload that allows the pilot to choose the best aircraft for their mission. Gateway is an equity membership club. Shares are member property and typically sold privately on Craigslist, Barnstormers, or Facebook Marketplace. Dues are $155/month (including tax). Aircraft usage is charged on a Dry-Tach basis (pilot buys the fuel). An equity member's immediate family members are eligible for Associate Membership status, which include flight privileges, for $45/month. The clubs fleet consists of three Cessnas: 1976 C172M Skyhawk, 1976 C177B Cardinal, 1976 C182P Skylane and a 1978 Piper PA-32RT-300 Lance. The planes fly approximately 300 hours each per year. All aircraft are ADSB Compliant and IFR equipped (VOR/ILS) with Garmin WAAS GPS Navigators. All aircraft have 4/6-place intercoms, JPI engine monitors; the Cessna's have Angle of Attack instruments and 4-point harnesses for the pilot and co-pilot. The 177, 182 and P32T have 2-axis autopilots. Our planes are suitable learning platforms for certificates and ratings from Private Pilot to CFII. Student pilots are welcome; but must be an equity or family member to receive instruction in the club's planes. Club meetings are open to prospective members and are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month starting at 7pm at the club hangar. We recommend that first-time visitors call ahead to confirm meeting time and location.
