About
Gville Flyers is a non-profit flying club in Gainesville, FL, based at Gainesville Regional Airport (KGNV). Our mission is to build an aviation community where people become safer pilots, fly more economically, make lasting friendships, and share their passion for flying. We seek to make aviation inclusive and accessible to anyone who shares our passion for the sky. We currently have one airplane and 10 members (our cap ), though we are exploring options to diversify our fleet and enlarge our community. We are an equity club, meaning that members own a share of the club and have pride of ownership in club aircraft. Members must hold at least a private pilot certificate. We are not a flight school, but we do encourage members to pursue advanced ratings and certificates as part of an ongoing commitment to become more capable, safer pilots. Our members include several active flight instructors and pilot mentors. Our airplane, N971DS, is a 2006 Diamond DA40-180 with the Garmin G1000 avionics package and KAP140 autopilot. We also host a monthly Hangar Hangout on the third Wednesday of each month. This event is open to the whole GA community; you do not need to be a member to attend. At each Hangout, a club CFI presents a safety seminar, which qualifies for credit in the FAA WINGS Pilot Proficiency Program. Please visit gvilleflyers.org to learn more.
