About
Lima Whiskey was started in the fall of 2016 by three friends who shared a common interest in flying and desired to have a fast, economical, and safe four place IFR equipped aircraft. After many months of searching, in January of 2017, we found N772DF a 1980 Mooney M20J with a low time engine, a Garmin 530AW GPS, and a KFC200 two axis autopilot. Rather than forming a simple three-way partnership, instead we created the Lima Whiskey Flying Club - 501(c)(7) non profit social club - so that others might have the opportunity to join us in our love of flying. The way that it works is simple. The Lima Whiskey Flying Club corporation owns the aircraft and members initially purchase a share of the club which gives he/she the right to fly the Club’s aircraft. In addition to the initial share purchase, members pay monthly dues which cover hanger rental, insurance, maintenance costs, etc. And of course, members pay an hourly fee (based on the tachometer time) to fly the aircraft. The hourly rate covers fuel, oil, and funds which are set aside for annuals and ultimately future engine and propeller TBOs. We are based in the North Hangers at Captial City Airport (KCTX) in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, just on the other side of the Susquehanna River from Harrisburg. We have added the following updates to the M20J. ADSB In and Out Garmin Flight Stream New Audio Panel with Blue Tooth Engine Pre-Heater JPI Engine Monitor
