About
Smoke Eagles is a non-profit flying club that has been in existence for over seventy years! It was registered as a California corporation in 1954 and is managed by board of five annually elected members. We have two aircraft (172, 182) and limit our membership to 30. Membership is not open to student pilots, but they may apply in anticipation of becoming private pilots. Our buy-in and fees are evaluated yearly and adjusted if necessary. Dues cover all fixed costs, and the hourly rate covers all flight related costs. Reserves are established for anticipated future known expenditures such as paint, upholstery, avionics, etc. We own both aircraft and have cash on-hand for maintenance, annuals, and overhauls. Our aircraft are ADS-B In/Out with GNS 530 and GTN 650, paired with GTX345. Buy-in fee is refundable in full upon leaving the club. We have no daily minimums and use TACH time for hourly billing. We have an on-line scheduling system. Members are issued aircraft keys and have 24 hour access. Smoke Eagles meets virtually (Zoom) on the first Thursday (2nd if a holiday) of each month at 7 PM. Guests are always welcome. Send an email for the Zoom link 24 hours prior. A wait list is maintained for potential members. Our website (https://www.smokeeagles.com/) provides more information and an inquiry form that when completed will result in a response email with club details and costs, bylaws, flight regulations, and a link to our application form. Completing the application form will place you on our waitlist. There is no cost to be placed on our waitlist and no obligation to join when invited to do so. We are on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/SmokeEagles and on the web at www.Smokeeagles.com Come check us out.
