Welcome to the White Sands Soaring Association (WSSA for short). We were formed in 1959 by a group of people with a keen interest in soaring and have been in continuous operation ever since. Our purpose is to promote the art, science, fellowship and fun of soaring. We fly year-round in the Tularosa Basin and the Sacremento Mountains along the east side of White Sands Missile Range. The combination of sunshine, desert and mountains provide incredible soaring conditions resulting in both long-range and high-altitude flying. We have one of the largest, nicest and well-maintained fleets of club owned aircraft in the country. • Operate out of Alamogordo-White Sands Regional Airport • Clubhouse with food and drinks • Club owned glider hangar for all club aircraft plus some private • Scheduled Flying every Saturday and Sunday • Weekday flying coordinated by individuals Our aircraft consists of 1 Towplane – C-150/180; 1 L23 Super Blanik; 1 Grob102; 2 Grob 103 Twin II; 2 Grob 103 Twin III SL
