Autonomous Air Traffic Controller: A Deep Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning Approach
Air traffic control is a real-time safety-critical decision making process in highly dynamic and stochastic environments. In today's aviation practice, a human air traffic controller monitors and directs many aircraft fl…

A Game Theoretical Framework for the Evaluation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems Airspace Integration Concepts
Predicting the outcomes of integrating Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) into the National Aerospace (NAS) is a complex problem which is required to be addressed by simulation studies before allowing the routine access of UA…

Learning Extreme Hummingbird Maneuvers on Flapping Wing Robots
Biological studies show that hummingbirds can perform extreme aerobatic maneuvers during fast escape. Given a sudden looming visual stimulus at hover, a hummingbird initiates a fast backward translation coupled with a 18…

Predicting Aircraft Trajectories: A Deep Generative Convolutional Recurrent Neural Networks Approach
Reliable 4D aircraft trajectory prediction, whether in a real-time setting or for analysis of counterfactuals, is important to the efficiency of the aviation system.

Neural Lander: Stable Drone Landing Control using Learned Dynamics
Precise near-ground trajectory control is difficult for multi-rotor drones, due to the complex aerodynamic effects caused by interactions between multi-rotor airflow and the environment.

Distributed Wildfire Surveillance with Autonomous Aircraft using Deep Reinforcement Learning
Teams of autonomous unmanned aircraft can be used to monitor wildfires, enabling firefighters to make informed decisions. However, controlling multiple autonomous fixed-wing aircraft to maximize forest fire coverage is a…

A Unified Framework for Joint Mobility Prediction and Object Profiling of Drones in UAV Networks
In recent years, using a network of autonomous and cooperative unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) without command and communication from the ground station has become more imperative, in particular in search-and-rescue oper…

Lazily Adapted Constant Kinky Inference for Nonparametric Regression and Model-Reference Adaptive Control
Techniques known as Nonlinear Set Membership prediction, Lipschitz Interpolation or Kinky Inference are approaches to machine learning that utilise presupposed Lipschitz properties to compute inferences over unobserved f…

Learning Monocular Reactive UAV Control in Cluttered Natural Environments
Autonomous navigation for large Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) is fairly straight-forward, as expensive sensors and monitoring devices can be employed.
