The pilot’s failure to properly configure the airplane for landing.

Factual narrative

The pilot reported that he failed to extend the landing gear prior to landing, resulting in a gear up landing. The airplane sustained substantial damage to the fuselage. The pilot reported that there were no pre-accident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
