Factual narrative

On June 20, 2006, at 1430 eastern daylight time, an Allegro 2000, light sport airplane, N5024J, registered to and operated by B Bar D Aviation, Inc., as a 14 CFR Part 91 instructional flight, collided with runway 21, during touchdown at the Sanford-Lee County Regional Airport, Sanford, North Carolina. The airplane received substantial damage. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and a VFR flight plan was filed. The student pilot reported no injuries. The flight originated from the Siler City Municipal Airport, Siler City, North Carolina, on June 20, 2006, at 1320. According to the student pilot, during touchdown the airplane bounced twice. He attempted to add full power to go-around, the left wing impacted the ground, and the airplane spun around 180-degrees. There were no mechanical problems reported by the student pilot.
