Probable cause & findings

The pilot's failure to maintain aircraft control during a touch-and-go landing.

Factual narrative

The pilot of the tail wheel-equipped airplane reported that, during a touch and go, at full power, the airplane began to roll to the right and the pilot was unable to arrest the roll. The airplane entered a corn field north of the runway, and impacted the ground. The airplane sustained substantial damage to the left wing and fuselage. The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
