Probable cause & findings

The pilot’s failure to maintain clearance from an obstacle during taxi operations.

Factual narrative

The pilot reported that as he taxied the airplane to the ramp, he steered toward one of the available parking spots, and the left wing of the airplane struck a light pole which resulted in substantial damage to the outboard end of the left wing.
