IMPROPER REMEDIAL ACTION, THE PILOT'S FAILURE TO MAINTAIN AIRSPEED, AND THE FAILED TOW ROPE.

Factual narrative

THE TOW ROPE BROKE AT AN ALTITUDE OF APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET DURING THE AUTO TOW. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO RETURN TO THE AIRPORT.
