Factual narrative
On August 8, 2015, 1505 UTC, a Cessna 402B, HK-4990, registered to and operated by AeroExpress, collided with terrain near Vereda Guarigua Cajica, Cundinamarca, Colombia. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time and flight plan information is unknown for the non-US, non-commercial local training flight, which originated from Guaymaral Airport (SKGY), Bogota, Colombia. The airplane sustained substantial damage, and the three occupants were fatally injured. After takeoff the flight proceeded to the training area and about 22 minutes after takeoff, an emergency was declared and contact was lost. A search was initiated and the wreckage was located adjacent to a house; there were no reported ground injuries. This investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Colombia.
