THE FAILURE OF THE PILOT TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL DURING THE LANDING ROLL
Factual narrative
On January 16, 1993, at 1448 central standard time, a Boeing A75N1, N56221, was substantially damaged during landing at Stinson Airport, San Antonio, Texas. The pilot was not injured. Weather for the 14 CFR part 91 flight was visual meteorological conditions. W. M. Parker of Seguin, Texas, was the registered owner and operator. During interviews with the pilot conducted by a Federal Aviation Administration inspector and in a written report, the pilot stated that he was practicing touch and go landings. He further reported that during the last landing he lost directional control and the airplane ground looped, damaging the right main landing gear and right wing. FOLLOWING A SERIES OF TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS THE PILOT LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL ON THE LAST LANDING.
