Probable cause & findings
The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll.
Factual narrative
During the landing roll, the tailwheel-equipped airplane veered off the runway to the left, the right main landing gear collapsed, and the right wing impacted the ground. The airplane sustained substantial damage to the fuselage. The pilot did not report that there were any preaccident mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation. The pilot failed to submit the NTSB Pilot/ Operator Aircraft Accident/ Incident Report Form 6120.1.
