Probable cause & findings

The loss of engine power for an undetermined reason. A contributing factor was the lack of suitable terrain for the forced landing.

Factual narrative

The pilot reported that about 7 to 10 minutes into the flight, the engine lost power. He restarted the engine; however, it lost power again after 30 seconds. He selected a field and executed a forced landing. The field was rough, and during the landing roll, the nose landing gear dug into the ground, and the airplane nosed over.
