Factual narrative
On October 30, 2014, about 0330 universal coordinated time, a Liberty Aerospace XL2, PK-LLC, was reported missing after contact was lost with the airplane. A search was initiated and the wreckage was subsequently located on December 15, 2014, South of Moyo island, Sumbawa, Indonesia. The aircraft was operated by Lombok institute of Flight Technology under the pertinent civil regulations of the government of Indonesia. The airplane was substantially damaged, and the certified flight instructor, and the student pilot were fatally injured. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Indonesia.
