Probable cause & findings
The Remos pilot’s failure to maintain clearance from another airplane while taxiing, which resulted in a ground collision.
Factual narrative
The pilot of the Remos reported while taxing to the run-up area, he misjudged the distance between his left wing and the Cessna that was performing a run-up within the run-up aera. The left wing of the Remos collided with the propeller of the other airplane, resulting in substantial damage to the left wing and aileron. The Cessna sustained minor damage to the propeller. The pilots of both airplanes reported that there were no preaccident mechanical malfunctions and failures with the airplanes that would have precluded normal operation.
