SAIB ACE-96-08 —
What is a SAIB?
A Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin is an FAA-issued advisory — not mandatory like an AD, but worth knowing about. SAIBs typically flag service bulletins, manufacturer recommendations, or emerging issues that don't (yet) rise to AD level.

No. ACE-96-08 November 8, 1996 Published by: FAA, AFS-610, P.O. Box 26460, Oklahoma City, OK 73125 This is issued for informational purposes only and any recommendation for corrective action is not mandatory.
INTRODUCTION:
The purpose of this Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin is to advise operators of Pilatus PC-6 and PC-12 airplanes of the need to review the service letter and bulletins listed below.
BACKGROUND:
The Small Airplane Directorate, Aircraft Certification Service, of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) conducted a review of specified Pilatus airplane service letters and bulletins. The purpose of the review was to evaluate each service letter and bulletin to determine the continued airworthiness safety aspect. The options considered by the FAA included: mandated compliance by initiation of an FAA Airworthiness Directive (AD), various forms of notices, or no further action required.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
The service letter and bulletins identified in this document were not considered appropriate for AD action at this time, however, the FAA strongly suggests that all operators of the specified Pilatus Model PC-6 and PC-12 airplanes review their compliance of the service letter and bulletins listed below.
