Introduction

This Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin alerts you, owners and operators of SOCATA Model TBM 700 airplanes, that SOCATA has issued Service Bulletin (SB) No. SB 70-102, titled “Check and Correction of C6 and C8 Cross – Beam Bolt Tightening”, dated April 2003. The SB notifies owners and operators of a rotating cross-beam bolt due to insufficient torque applied at the time of production.

Background

The French DGAC has issued an Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2003-271(A), dated July 23, 2003, referencing the SB. SOCATA listed the SB as “Mandatory” for aircraft serial numbers 121-159, 161-211, 213-239, and 241-249.

Recommendation

We aren’t issuing an AD at this time, but highly recommend that you accomplish the inspections per the required compliance time in the SB.
