Introduction

This Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin alerts you, owners and operators of SOCATA Model TBM 700 airplanes (serial numbers 205, 222 to 263), that SOCATA has issued Service Bulletin (SB) No. SB 70-106 titled “Servicing Plug”, dated June 2003. The SB notifies you about a left hand rear servicing plug. The connection of equipment that does not comply with the available electrical power can produce an electrical power over consumption and damage the power supply cable.

Background The French DGAC issued Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2003-261(A), dated July 9, 2003, referencing the SB 70-106. SOCATA listed the SB as “Mandatory” for TBM 700 aircraft serial numbers 205, 222 to 263.

Recommendation

We aren’t issuing an AD at this time, but highly recommend that you accomplish the inspections per the required compliance time stated in the SB.
