SAIB CE-04-29 —
What is a SAIB?
A Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin is an FAA-issued advisory — not mandatory like an AD, but worth knowing about. SAIBs typically flag service bulletins, manufacturer recommendations, or emerging issues that don't (yet) rise to AD level.

Introduction
This Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin alerts you, owners and operators of Zenair Ltd Model CH2000 aircraft, Serial Numbers (SN) 20-0002 thru 20-1015, that Zenair Ltd has issued Zenair Service Letter October 15 03, dated October 15, 2003. This service letter contains instructions for attaching a large white tab to the flap switch toggle.
Background
Upon post certification review of the Zenair Ltd Model CH2000 aircraft, the FAA has determined that the flap switch toggle doesn’t comply with 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) part 23.781(a). Zenair Ltd has now changed the design of their aircraft to incorporate a new flap switch design on all future aircraft beginning with SN 20-1016. Zenair issued Service Letter October 15 03, providing instructions how to modify those aircraft with SNs prior to SN 20-1016.
Recommendation
We aren’t issuing an AD at this time, but highly recommend that you comply with the instructions in Zenair’s Service Letter October 15 03.
