Introduction
This Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin alerts you, owners and operators of Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. PC-12 and PC-12/45 airplanes with an executive interior and a six, seven, or eight-seat oxygen system with the below listed effective Manufacturer Serial Numbers (MSN), that the Federal Office for Civil Aviation (FOCA) of Switzerland has issued a Swiss Airworthiness Directive (AD) No. HB 2004-182, effective May 21, 2004. The Swiss AD requires at the next Annual Inspection for airplanes with less than 1,500 hours time-in-service (TIS) or at the next 100 Hour Inspection for airplanes with more than 1,500 hours TIS, either no later than December 31, 2004, to inspect and modify the passenger oxygen system in accordance with (ICW) Pilatus PC-12 Mandatory Service Bulletin (SB) 35-004, dated December 19, 2003.

Background
It is possible for chaffing damage to occur due to insufficient clearance between the passenger oxygen pipe assemblies and some of the cabin lighting components in the headliner of airplanes with executive interiors. This condition, if not corrected, could result in the leakage of the passenger oxygen pipe assembly. In order to prevent the condition described, the Swiss AD requires the following actions:
(a) Replacement Of Forward Oxygen Pipe 1. Remove and discard the forward oxygen pipe P/N 535.21.12.076 and install new forward oxygen pipe P/N 535.21.12.125.
(b) Inspection 1. Inspect the overhead panel for damage. If damage is found, contact Pilatus for repair procedures. 2. Inspect the interior-lighting power-supply units for damage. If damage is found, prior to further flight, replace the damaged interior-lighting power-supply unit(s).
2 3. For airplanes with the eight-seat oxygen system installed, inspect the aft oxygen pipe P/N 535.21.12.054 for damage. If damage is found, prior to further flight, replace the aft oxygen pipe.
(c) Modification 1. For airplanes with the traffic alert and collision avoidance system (TCAS) antenna and the eight-seat oxygen system installed, modify the TCAS antenna cable routing in accordance with PC-12 SB No. 35-004. 2. For airplanes with the eight-seat oxygen system installed, modify the attachment of the aft oxygen pipe routing in accordance with PC-12 SB No. 35-004.
Recommendation
We highly recommend that you incorporate Pilatus SB 35-004 as soon as possible.
