SAIB CE-06-41 —
What is a SAIB?
A Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin is an FAA-issued advisory — not mandatory like an AD, but worth knowing about. SAIBs typically flag service bulletins, manufacturer recommendations, or emerging issues that don't (yet) rise to AD level.
Bulletin text
Verbatim from the FAA-published PDF. 13 paragraphs · 236 words.

Introduction
This Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin (SAIB) advises you, owners and operators of the following Schempp-Hirth Flugzeugbau GmbH Model gliders, of an airworthiness concern:
Model Serial Numbers Janus, Janus B, Janus C, Janus Ce 1 – 307 Janus CM 1 – 37 Janus CT 1 – 22 Nimbus-3D 1, 1/3, 2 – 14 Nimbus-3DM 1 – 27 Nimbus-3DT 1 – 63
Background
On a Janus Ce sailplane with 5,872 flight hours, the attachment of the rear seat elevator control broke in flight. Because of redundant controls in the front seat, the flight was able to continue. A similar design of the control system exists on the above-mentioned models.
Technical Note Numbers 295-30, 373-9, 809-16, 847-9 require a visual inspection of the front and rear seat stick control attachments for cracks or damage. If a crack is found, the control attachments should be reinforced per the Appendix to the above- stated technical notes.
Recommendation
We recommend you do the actions of the stated Technical Notes upon receipt of this SAIB.
