Introduction

This Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin (SAIB) advises you, owners or operators of DG Flugzeugbau GmbH Model DG-500M, all serial numbers (S/Ns); DG-500MB, all S/Ns up to and including 5E243; DG-800B, all S/Ns up to and including 8-321 (Solo and Mid West engines) gliders; of an airworthiness concern.

Background

On a DG-800B, the brass section of the primer valve disintegrated from the valve resulting in fuel leakage. This condition may exist on the above-mentioned models.

Recommendation

We recommend you do the actions of the stated Technical Notes upon receipt of this SAIB. However, in lieu of recurring inspections, we recommend you install the heat shrink tubing if the primer valve is intact or repair or replace as appropriate if you find damage. For Further Information Contact
