This copy corrects a typo in the Mandatory Service Bulletin (SB) number. The correct SB number should be 51-JA020940. All other information remains the same.

Introduction

This Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin (SAIB) alerts you, owners and operators of British Aerospace Regional Aircraft (BAE SYSTEMS) HP.137 Jetstream Mk.1, Jetstream Series 200, and 3100 and 3200 Model aircraft, that BAE Systems has issued Mandatory Service Bulletin 51-JA020940 to inspect and correct the fuselage and wing structures.

Background

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of the United Kingdom has completed their review of the wing fatigue test and aircraft life extension investigation for the Jetstream 3200 series aircraft. From this review, the CAA has identified additional fuselage and wing structure inspection and necessary correction requirements.

These requirements apply to BAE SYSTEMS HP 137 Jetstream MK1, Jetstream Series 200, and 3100 and 3200 aircraft.

The CAA issued British AD No. G-2004-0017 to address this issue for airplanes on the United Kingdom registry.

Recommendation

We recommend that you do the actions of Mandatory Service Bulletin (SB) 51-JA020940.
