What is a SAIB?
A Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin is an FAA-issued advisory — not mandatory like an AD, but worth knowing about. SAIBs typically flag service bulletins, manufacturer recommendations, or emerging issues that don't (yet) rise to AD level.

Introduction
This Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin (SAIB) alerts you of an airworthiness concern for Socata Model TBM 700 airplanes, serial numbers 126, 129, 137, 143 to 145, 148 to 268, 270 to 295, 298, and 299.
Background
The Direction Générale de L'Aviation Civile (DGAC), which is the airworthiness authority for France, reports a manufacturing non-conformity installation of some cargo compartment floor panel attachment anchor nuts and both rear strap rings. The single lug anchor nuts diameter 0.196” (5 mm) were installed instead of diameter 3/16” (4.8 mm) anchor nuts.
SOCATA issued Service Bulletin (SB) No. SB 70- 125, dated February 2005, entitled “Cargo Compartment Floor Panel and Strap Attachment Anchor Nuts.” This SB states that, at the next time any work is done in the same area or during the next 600 hours inspection or before February 28, 2006, you should replace the anchor nuts, bolts, and screws. Application of this service bulletin requires important preparation work (removal of rear bench, upholstery panels, insulation, cargo compartment floor panels…). This procedure could be grouped with a more important maintenance task.
The DGAC issued Airworthiness Directive (AD) F-2005-050, dated March 30, 2005, to require the actions of the service bulletin on airplanes registered for operation in France.
Recommendation
We recommend that you do the actions of SOCATA SB 70-125, dated February 2005.
