What is a SAIB?

A Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin is an FAA-issued advisory — not mandatory like an AD, but worth knowing about. SAIBs typically flag service bulletins, manufacturer recommendations, or emerging issues that don't (yet) rise to AD level.

1 FAA Aviation Safety SPECIAL AIRWORTHINESS INFORMATION BULLETIN SUBJ: Alternative Methods of Compliance (AMOC) to Airworthiness Directive (AD) 89-25-10 and 89-25-08 SAIB: CE-10-34R2 Date: August 30, 2013 This is information only. Recommendations aren’t mandatory.

Introduction

This Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin (SAIB) has been revised to correct the contact information for how to obtain the AMOC.

This Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin is written to inform the public, users, operators, and repair and inspection facilities about how to obtain a copy of the universal global AMOC for AD 89- 25-10 and AD 89-25-08.

Background

The two subject ADs require the inspection of certain areas of the wing to the requirements of the Hawker Beechcraft Corporation, Structural Inspection and Repair Manual (SIRM) 98-39006. The two respective ADs use and identify revision levels of the SIRM, which were current when the ADs were written. Since that time, the HBC SIRM has been revised many times.
