Configuration 1 is for the installation of Spectrolab SX-16/SX-5/XP Searchlight and optional Dynamic Systems SLASS in accordance with Amtech Aeronautical Limited (AAL) Engineering Order EO342401, Revision 4 , dated December 15, 2008, approved by Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) on July 27, 2010 or later Transport Canada approved revisions. Configuration 2 is for the installation of Trakkabeam A800 Searchlight in accordance with Amtech Aeronautical Limited (AAL) Engineering Order EO42440, Revision 1 dated March 8, 2011 approved by Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) on April 6, 2011 or later Transport Canada approved revisions.
What is an STC?
A Supplemental Type Certificate authorizes a major modification or alteration to an FAA-certificated aircraft. STCs are how operators legally install new avionics, change fuel systems, add floats, swap engines, etc. — every change beyond a minor modification needs one.
