Abstract
The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Schempp-Hirth Flugzeugbau GmbH Model Duo Discus and Duo Discus T gliders. This AD was prompted by reports of gliders' canopies opening during air tow. This AD requires modifying the canopy locking mechanism. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

SUMMARY: The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Schempp-Hirth Flugzeugbau GmbH Model Duo Discus and Duo Discus T gliders. This AD was prompted by reports of gliders' canopies opening during air tow. This AD requires modifying the canopy locking mechanism. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
DATES: This AD is effective April 8, 2025. The Director of the Federal Register approved the incorporation by reference of certain publications listed in this AD as of April 8, 2025.
