The Impacts of Advanced Avionics on Degraded Visual Environments

Degraded visual environments (DVE) such as brownout, sand storms, and night conditions are responsible for accidents and hence losses in the aviation industry.

Conceptual Design of Fuel Dumping System in Aircraft

Airlines release the unburned jet fuel into the atmosphere to reduce the weight of aircraft before landing. Sometimes, aircraft reach a weight more than takeoff weight while departing from the airport.

Internet of Things 36-rotor Multicopter for Ionizing Radiation Surveying

This paper presents an Internet of things 36-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle suitable for radiological surveying of buildings and facilities. The design of the 36-rotor multicopter platform is disclosed.

Dynamic Delegated Corridors and 4D Required Navigation Performance for Urban Air Mobility (UAM) Airspace Integration

Increased traffic congestion on urban road networks has impacted the travel time for commuters in highly populated urban centers. Urban Air Mobility (UAM) is recognized as a system that transports the passenger and air c…

Mini Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAV) - A Review of the Parameters for Classification of a Mini UAV.

In the recent years, Mini Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) has generated a lot of interest both in military and civilian applications. Contemporary innovations have seen the entry of Mini UAV into a wide range of hitherto f…

Design and Realization of an Unmanned Aerial Rotorcraft Vehicle Using Pressurized Inflatable Structure

Unmanned aerial rotorcraft vehicles have many military, commercial and civil applications. There is a necessity to advance the performance on several ranges of rotorcraft for using these vehicles successfully in the expa…

Aerodynamic Design and Exploration of a Blended Wing Body Aircraft at Subsonic Speed

Blended Wing Body (BWB) is a novel aircraft concept which provides many different aerodynamic benefits over conventional aircrafts design.

Optimization and Analysis of an Elite Electric Propulsion System

Abstract- Electric propulsion has a promising system to create new possibilities in this technological era as well as control the harmful gaseous emission.

Clean-Fuel e-VTOL Air Mobility Vehicles for Unmanned and Manned Operations

Experimental investigation of a new spiral wingtip

Experiments on the relative merits and demerits of slotted wingtips mimicking a bird’s primary feathers have been performed. The real emargination length of feather tips, their flexibility and curved shapes during cruise…

The Challenges of Processing Kite Aerial Photography Imagery with Modern Photogrammetry Techniques

Kite Aerial Photography (KAP) is a traditional method of collecting small-format aerial photography used for work in a variety of fields.

Design and Optimization of Aircraft Configuration for Minimum Drag

This paper presents a reliable and robust optimization for minimum drag of an aircraft at the conceptual design phase. Firstly, the conceptual design code was developed and existing Single Seat Aerobatic (SSA) aircraft w…

Innovative Dodecacopter Design – Bulgarian Knight

The current article aims at introducing a novel dodecacopter multirotor design called Bulgarian Knight. The aircraft implements a number of innovations and characteristics that give it an advantage over other contemporar…

Suborbital Spaceflight: A student team’s plan to send a rocket to space

The Eagle Space Flight Team was created with the goal of becoming the first undergraduate team to design, build, and launch a rocket capable of suborbital spaceflight.

Autonomous Satellite Recovery Vehicle

In collaboration with ERFSEDS, we would like to send a small satellite attached to a quad-copter as the payload for ERFSEDS rocket which will reach an altitude of 10,000 feet.

Unlocking the Mysteries of Flight: From the Top Down

Traditionally, principles of flight are taught from the bottom-up. That is, we start by examining underlying causes (properties of air) and later move up to top consequences (aircraft performance).

Human Factors Considerations in Autonomous Lethal Unmanned Aerial Systems

The United States military is committed to the development of complete autonomy in unmanned vehicles, including armed unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

Improving Airplane Touchdown Control by Utilizing the Adverse Elevator Effect

The main objective of this original research article is to understand the short-term dynamic behavior of the transport-category airplane during landing flare elevator control application.

NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge

NASA's Great Moonbuggy Race, held annually in at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, is an engineering design challenge that asks teams of student engineers to design a human-‐powered vehicle capabl…
