Factual narrative

On October 25, 2013 about 1410 local time, an amateur built Lancair Legacy airplane, Australian registration VH-ICZ, collided with terrain near Shepparton, Australia. The airplane sustained substantial damage and the pilot and passenger were fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a personal flight under the pertinent civil regulations of the government of Australia. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Australia.
