Mitigating Information Overload in Aviation Safety: AI-Driven Hierarchical Tagging and Summarization of NOTAM for Pre-flight Information Bulletin

To address the challenges of aviation safety information overload in Pre-flight Information Bulletin (PIB) systems, this study proposes an intelligent classification framework (ERNIE-DPCNN) that integrates knowledge-enha…

Future Directions of Space Education

The future of space operations graduate education is reliant on industry leaders’ contributions to help forecast the needs of the industry.

Heat Generation of Aircraft Tires at Landing

When the aircraft lands on a runway, the great speed difference between tires and runway causes non-negligible friction and speeds up wheels.

Towards a hybrid comfortable passenger cabin interior for the flying V aircraft

The Flying-V is a V-shaped airplane in development, which uses less fuel due its form. Passengers are in the oval cabin in the wing, which asks for an alternative design to the interior.

Open-ended capstone project: designing and manufacturing of a low-cost carbon fiber reinforced composite suborbital rocket payload housing using a 3D printed core

Composite materials are utilized in many industries today due to its high performance and lightweight. However, the part manufacturing process of traditional composites is complicated and often involves high cost.

Performance Characteristics Design of Pulsed Plasma Thrusters for Drag Counter-Reacting

Determining the performance characteristics of off the shelf pulsed plasma thrusters to enhance the life time of low earth orbiting platforms was investigated theoretically.

Design and Realization of an Unmanned Aerial Rotorcraft Vehicle Using Pressurized Inflatable Structure

Unmanned aerial rotorcraft vehicles have many military, commercial and civil applications. There is a necessity to advance the performance on several ranges of rotorcraft for using these vehicles successfully in the expa…

Meeting Real World Demands of the Global Economy: An Employer's Perspective

Educational programs prepare students theoretically for the workplace, but many programs are still lacking in the real-world skills that the workplace requires.

Evaluating the Effect of Turbulence on Aircraft During Landing and Take-Off Phases

—— Low level wind shear and turbulence present a serious safety risk to aircraft during the approach, landing and take-off phases. Low level wind shear has been identified as one of the primary factors for aircraft go-ar…

Blended Wing Body Propulsion System Design

This research paper focuses on the optimization of the propulsion system of a blended wing body design. Two different aspects of the design, the engine placement and count, and the engine itself, are investigated.

Qualitative Analysis of Loss of Control Aircraft Accidents Using Text Mining Techniques

The purpose of this study was to analyze the narrative National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) accident cause descriptions for general aviation (GA) Loss of Control (LOC) accident reports by the different certificati…
