Factual narrative
PILOT MADE A HARD OFF AIRPORT LANDING AFTER LOSS OF POWER. HE HAD USED A PROLONGED SLIP TO LOSE ALTITUDE AND THE ENGINE STOPPED. THEN HE COULD NOT REACH THE RUNWAY.
