Factual narrative

On January 30, 2013 an MD-82, registration number SE-DIK, sustained a serious engine failure during the takeoff roll. The engine has been removed from the airplane and will undergo a teardown examination. The Danish Accident Investigation Board is investigating the accident. As the state of manufacture of the airplane and engines, the NTSB has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative under the provisions of Annex 13 to the Convention on Civil Aviation to assist the TSB in their investigation.
