Factual narrative

On October 21, 2013, about 1840 universal coordinated time (UTC), a Piper PA-34-200, Brazilian registration PT-KGK, while on a local training flight, impacted in a lagoon, after a loss of control, in Marica Municipality – State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The airplane was destroyed by impact.  The two occupants onboard were fatally injured. This investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Brazil.
