Installation of Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Special Missions Equipment in the Cessna Models 182T/T182T including the KGS power converter, Technisonics TDFM Transceiver, Rhotheta/Becker ADF, P/N 0531-324-924, and 12 and 28 VDC power outlets. The CAP Special Mission Equipment may be interfaced to the UPSAT Avionics package or the NAV III (Garmin G-1000 w/Dual GMA-1347 Audio Panels) Avionics package. An optional ARTEX 110-406 Emergency Locator Transmitter and/or audio provisions for ARNAV RCOM 100 SATCOM may be installed when the CAP equipment is installed with the NAV III package. Installation of the CAP equipment in accordance with the installation data and FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual Supplements (AFMS) listed on the Continuation Sheet (See page 3 of 3).
What is an STC?
A Supplemental Type Certificate authorizes a major modification or alteration to an FAA-certificated aircraft. STCs are how operators legally install new avionics, change fuel systems, add floats, swap engines, etc. — every change beyond a minor modification needs one.
