Abstract

This action proposes to amend the Class D airspace and establish Class E airspace at Chandler and Phoenix, AZ. The name and geographic coordinates of the Mesa Gateway Airport, Phoenix, AZ, would also be updated to coincide with the FAA's aeronautical database. The FAA is proposing this action due to biennial airspace reviews, to support instrument flight rule (IFR) operations, and to bring the airspace into compliance with FAA orders.

ACTION: Notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM).

SUMMARY: This action proposes to amend the Class D airspace and establish Class E airspace at Chandler and Phoenix, AZ. The name and geographic coordinates of the Mesa Gateway Airport, Phoenix, AZ, would also be updated to coincide with the FAA's aeronautical database. The FAA is proposing this action due to biennial airspace reviews, to support instrument flight rule (IFR) operations, and to bring the airspace into compliance with FAA orders.
